This is the Khmer Saying to share all Cambodian and others with a brief explanation. You will find out all the words are useful and meaningful.
1. សីលធម៌ និង សាសនា (Moral and Religion Khmer Saying)
Khmer word : ធ្វើបុណ្យទាន់បំពង់កឈរ
Khmer spelling : (thveu bon toan bampong kor chho)
English by Khmer: (practice good deed on time pipe neck stand 'Accomplish good deeds as long as the throat stands')
English Description: Bampong (pipe), together with kor (neck), means throat or esophagus, that will lie horizontally when one is getting too old to stand, so we understand: Do well before it is too late. Another interpretation also suggests that feeding old parents as long as they are living is more important than to offer them the food in the ceremonies after their deaths, as expected by tradition.
